Ikogosi warm spring, putting Ekiti on the tourist map

EKITI state governor Dr Kayode Fayemi at the has inaugurated the phase one of the multi Billion naira ikogosi warm spring project with a promise of continuous development of tourism potentials in the state to so as to make the state a hub of tourism in the Southwest and for economic benefits of Ekiti people. The events draw eminent personalities from all walks of life most of who shower encomiums and commendation for Dr Kayode Fayemi for the initiatives Dr Fayemi while speaking at the

commissioning the phase 1 of ikogosi warm spring redevelopment said his administration considered tourism development and environmental sustainability as one of the key agenda through which he intend to make Ekiti state a most attractive destination for relaxation , holidays by building a heliport,  world class hotel and accommodation facilities and developing. Efon, Okemesi,Ikogosi , Ipole Iloro tourism corridor,
He added that the development of ikogosi is beyond the reconstruction of the sites and well furnished  hundred rooms accommodation with modern facilities for conference, seminars and others but will also include game village, cable car that will carry people from Arinta water Fall Ipole iloro to Ikogosi and others to make it a world class tourism centre and one of the best in the world.
The governor however tasked the hosting community and the people of the state to continue to support the government of the day in other to be able to bring more development for the state noting that the economics of the state will be boosted if such developments are constant.
Earlier in her speech, the State commissioner for Art, culture and Tourism, Chief Ronke okusanya said “ikogosi warm and cold spring which exists in its natural self suffered neglect from the past administration to develop the site that did nest to nothing in utilizing its potentials for economic development of the state.
She added further that "the massive infra structural development been witness today is vision of the governor Dr. John Kayode Fayemi who is poised at given Ekiti tourism a facelift for economic development of the state" noting  that the. Development has afforded the spring to be enlisted among the Seven Natural wonders in Nigeria.
Mrs Okusanya while highlighting the. Structures at the resort said Ikogosi can now boost of accessible road, a standard swimming pool, amphi theatre centre, conference and seminar hall, over hundred rooms of different grades and sizes, 24 hours electricity and water supply, with a good security. Adding that, other phases will include facilities that will make it a standard resort which can compete with anyone in the world.
The spokesperson for the hosting community Pa Benjamin Adeniji commended the resuscitation Ikogosi warm spring by Governor Kayode fayemi led administration with through the massive constructions of infrastructure and other facilities.
He also maintained that the gesture has been positively affecting the economic activities of Ikogosi and its environs, saying" we are feeling the impact of the redevelopment of the spring which is our pride and we belief that we are going to get more from the government ".
While presenting the gift on behalf of the community, Pa Adeniji assured the continuous support of the community for Dr Kayode Fayemi led administration to extend beyond 2014. Some of the residents of Ikogosi who spoke with Alarinka attest to the message delivered by Pa Adenji due to the unprecedented development witness in the community
Highlight of the events includes presentation of book, entitled Regaining the Legacies written by the governor and decoration of Ekiti cultural Ambassadors, traditional dance and Hip of music from shasha and 9ice.
